Certified armor steel casting as the basis for an optimal product.

In addition to the technology, the appropriate process, and the correct post-treatment, the choice of the right material is crucial for the quality and performance of the finished component.
Certified Cast Armor Steel
In addition to the general material range, SCHMEES offers many proprietary alloys. For the SCHMEES defense sector, we are able to manufacture certified armor steel or security steel in various grades according to TL 2350-0002, which provides protection against ballistic threats, among other things.
seculloy®
SCHMEES has decades of experience in the optimization and production of high-performance steel for use in particularly demanding environments. Materials that are subject to special requirements are needed especially for the military and civilian security sectors.
SCHMEES defense offers steel from its own brand seculloy® in various grades.
Certified according to TL 2350-0002
Seculloy® is suitable for protecting vehicles, vehicle parts, and buildings against ballistic threats.

Casting vs. 3D Metal Printing
Most metallic materials for additive manufacturing are primarily optimized for usability in 3D printers. Metallic materials are printed that are ideally suited for these processes.
Material development usually does not target the technical requirements of existing components. In the military sector, high-strength steels are often required that cannot be processed in 3D metal printers and likely will not be suitable for them in the near future.
For casting, however, a nearly unlimited selection of certified materials is available: aluminum, cast iron, steel, titanium, and many stainless steel grades. There is a suitable material for every requirement. Our experienced metallurgical engineers will be happy to advise you.
