Classic foundry craftsmanship combined with additive technologies

SCHMEES defence combines the expertise and experience derived from traditional foundry craftsmanship with the possibilities of additive technologies. With a constant drive for innovation, SCHMEES defence develops solutions for demanding industrial sectors. We produce for both civil and military requirements.
Fullservice by SCHMEES
The necessary production processes and plant technology for this are available at the SCHMEES cast Langenfeld GmbH and SCHMEES cast Pirna GmbH plants. All subsequent production steps, from mechanical finishing to the ready-to-use component, are generally carried out within the company or in cooperation with qualified partners.
Melting and casting
Casting steel and stainless steel is the core competence of SCHMEES.
At the locations in Langenfeld and Pirna, steel and stainless steel are melted in high-performance induction and electric arc furnaces.
The casting is performed into prepared molds, which are produced using various molding processes.
The casting processes and capacities:
- Hand-molding in the furan resin process up to 6,000 kg
- Machine-molding in the furan resin process up to 150 kg
- Ceramic casting process up to 600 kg
- Additive molding processes up to 6,000 kg
Batch sizes range from individual pieces / prototypes to small-scale series.
Vertical integration
Machining
The rough and finish machining of the castings takes place on CNC machining centers. High production quality and reliability are achieved through CAD-controlled process sequences.
Finishing
Finished castings leave our workshops as ready-to-use precision cast parts. Further processing is possible according to customer requirements:
- Coatings
- Paint finishes
- Markings
Components
Upon request, components are assembled into finished assemblies as part of component manufacturing.
